JOINING THE WEBINAR:
- Please use the Zoom Desktop Application which has been downloaded to your computer or mobile device. If you are using a company-issued computer and Zoom is not already installed, we recommend you contact your HelpDesk and request that they install and test the software.
- You can also participate by downloading the application on a personal device so that you will be able to change and manage settings. You may log in from two different devices. For example, you may use the web application to view the webinar and also log into the course from another device to respond to polling questions.
- If you are accessing Zoom via the web, the following browsers are recommended:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Chromium Edge
AUDIO ISSUES:
- Join the meeting a few minutes early and follow the screen prompts to Test the speaker.
- If your computer audio is too low, connect an external speaker or headset
POP-UPS:
Pop-ups must be enabled/allowed prior to joining the meeting. If you are using a company-issued device, contact your HelpDesk and request that they disable the pop-up blocker prior to joining the meeting. Here are some tips for disabling pop-ups:
CHROME (WINDOWS)
By default, Chrome will notify you when a pop-up is blocked and give you an option to see it. To turn off pop-up blocker, follow these instructions:
- Click the Customize and control Google Chrome menu (the three dots in the upper right corner)
- Select Settings.
- Click Advanced at the bottom.
- Under Privacy and security, click the Site Settings button.
- Select Pop-ups and redirects.
- To disable the pop-up blocker uncheck the Blocked (recommended) box.
- To enable pop-ups on specific sites, check Blocked (recommended) and click Add next to Allow and enter the URL(s).
FIREFOX (WINDOWS)
- Select the three horizontal bars in the upper right corner.
- Select Options.
- Select the Privacy and Security tab.
- To disable the pop-up blocker, uncheck the Block pop-up windows box below Permissions.
- To allow specific pop-ups, click Exceptions and enter the URL(s).
- Close the window.
- Click OK.
INTERNET EXPLORER (WINDOWS IE 8 AND EARLIER)
- Click Tools.
- Click Pop-up Blocker.
- Click Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
INTERNET EXPLORER (WINDOWS IE 9 AND LATER)
- Click the GEAR icon and select Internet Options.
- Select the Privacy tab.
- Uncheck Turn on Pop-up Blocker to disable the pop-up blocker.
- Click the Settings button to disable pop-up blockers for specific sites.
- Click OK.

- To allow specific pop-ups, click Exceptions and enter the URL(s).
- Close the window.
- Click OK.
SAFARI (MAC)
- From the Safari menu, select Preferences
- Click Websites at the top of the window
- Select Pop-up Windows.
- To disable the pop-up blocker select Allow next to When visiting other websites.
- To allow specific pop-ups, navigate to the web page, follow steps 1-3 and then select Allow next to the name of the site.
JOINING & CONFIGURING AUDIO & VIDEO:
- There are two ways to join meeting audio: computer or telephone. Please follow these sections to test your audio before or after joining a meeting.

JOIN A ZOOM TEST MEETING:
- Zoom has a test meeting where so you can familiarize yourself with Zoom and test your microphone and speakers before joining the webinar. You can also test your video or audio while in a meeting.
